Monday night was the season opening game for the RCMS 8th grade boys against Benton Central. The game went back and forth the whole 4 quarters. RCMS had a 1 point lead heading into the 4th quarter, but couldn’t finish the Bison off as they were outscored in the quarter by 6 points. Overall a decent game for their opener against a Bison team that is now 4-0. Hopefully learned a little and can use that experience for the rest of the season. Scoring for the Bombers was Dalton Henry 9 pts, Drew Cain 6 pts, Colby Chapman 4 pts, Broc Beier, Zachary Geleott, and Harrison Odle all had 3 pts, Carter Drone 2 pts, and Matt Brandenburg had 1 pt. RCMS record is now 0-1 and next play Saturday at the South Newton tourney.
The RCMS boys “B” team also opened against the Bison on Monday, and defeated the Bison in a thrilling game by a score of 36-35. They did a nice job of battling the whole game and came through in the end. Leading scorers for the Bombers was Cassius Pulver 13 pts, Harrison Odle 11pts, Tristen Weitrich and Matt Brandenburg both with 4 pts, Carter Drone 3pts, and Nolen Potts with 1 pt. The Bombers record is 1-0 and they next play Monday evening at Pioneer.
