The Rensselaer Central Middle School swim team swam against Harrison Middle school Thursday March 8th. RCMS came away with their 4th win of the season, beating Harrison 125-56. Congratulations to both teams and their swimmers.
The night started strong for the Bombers, with a 1st place win in the 200yd Medley Relay with a time of 2:18, 8 seconds ahead of Harrison’s 2nd place team.
RCMS continued the meet with its own Conner Parker winning 1st in the 200yd Free with time of 2:22. The 100IM showed teams swimming strength with Matthew Swartz in 1st place, time of 1:16, Emily Myers 2nd place, time of 1:20 and Ava Barten in 3rd, with time of 1:23. Great to see all RCMS in top 3.
In the 50yd Free RMCS’s Lilly Cook took 2nd, time of 27.49 and our 1st year swimmer Addison Hesson taking 3rd, with time of :33.44. Congratulations to both swimmers in one of the fastest events of the night. Harrison took 1st place with a time of :25.39.
Our divers Hayden Box, Aryanna Baldwin took 1st and 2nd respectively and Hannah Wisley taking 3rd in diving.
Again, our own Emily Meyers flew her way to 1st place in the 50yd Fly with a time of :31.82. Two in a row, way to go.
The Bombers fast swimming continued with the 100yd Free, where Lilly Cook and Conner Parker took 1st and 2nd, and where less than second apart. Then in the 400yd Free Ary Nelson 1st and Matthew Swartz 2nd keep the winning going.
In the 200yrd Free Relay RCMS took 1st and 2nd, followed by a 2nd place in the 100yd Backstroke by Kayne Robinson, and 3rd by Ava Barten. Then in the 100yd Breaststroke, RCMS’s Ary Nelson took 1st, with time of 1:20, and Jenna Minter in 3rd, with time of 1:41.
Last race of the night, the 200yd Free Relay kept RCMS in the win column with a 1st and 3rd place win.
RCMS is 4-2 on the season with their last home meet, Monday March 12th against BC. Followed by final away meet of the year, Tuesday March 13th against Twin Lakes.
