The Rensselaer Central Middle School swim team swam its last home meet of the season and came away with a win over Benton Central, 110.5 – 71.5. Congratulations to both teams and their swimmers.

For our 8th graders Conner Parker, Hayden Box and Hannah Wisley this was sure to be a great final win for them as they head to the HS swim team next year. The Bombers started things off right with a win in the 200yd Medley Relay with Kayne Robinson, Lilly Cook, Emily Myers and Ary Nelson with a 1st place time of 2:14.

In his last home meet, Conner Parker, took 1st in the 200yd Free with a time of 2:31, and Solcy Sanchez in 3rd with a time of 2:43. RCMS continued to dominate the meet with Matthew Swartz 1st in the 100IM with a time of 1:17. And Lilly Cook took 1st in the 50yd Free with her personal best time of 27.24.

Our divers Hayden Box, Hannah Wisley and Aryanna Baldwin took 2nd, 3rd, and 4th places. Great job divers and we wish Hayden Box well as he continues to dive at the HS for the Bombers next year.

The third meet in a row, Emily Meyers has flown her way to 1st place in the 50yd Fly with a time of :32.07.

History repeated itself, where the Bombers fast swimming continued with the 100yd Free, where Lilly Cook and Conner Parker took 1st and 2nd, and where less than second apart. Then in the 400yd Free Ary Nelson took 1st with a time of 4:56. And for the first time this season, there was a tie for 2nd between our own Matthew Swartz and BC ‘s Kristen Stacy with a time of 5:04.

In the 200yrd Free Relay RCMS took 1st with Conner Parker, Solcy Sanchez, Emily Myers, and Jenna Minter with a time of 2:10. Then in the 100yd Backstroke Kayne Robinson and Ava Barten were neck and neck until the final touch, where Kayne Robinson took 1st place with a time of 1:20.00 and Ava Barten in 2nd with a time of 1:20.26. This definitely was the best race of the night!

Ary Nelson took 1st place in the 100yd Breaststroke with a time of 1:20.48 and BC’s Keith Wislon in 2nd with a time of 1:20.56, again a nail bitter to the end. Last race of the night, the 200yd Free Relay kept RCMS in the win column with 1st place by Lilly Cook, Matthew Swartz, Conner Parker, and Ary Nelson.

RCMS is 5-2 on the season with their last meet, Tuesday March 13th h against Twin Lakes.
