The Boys Soccer team had a decisive victory over Lafayette Central Catholic in the first round of the Hoosier Conference Tournament. The Knights were able to hold the Bombers scoreless for the first 11 minutes of play, until Juan Valencia put the ball in the far post off a pass from Wrigley Porter. The Bombers were able to get two more goals in the first half: Andrew Cain assisted by Luke Dixon, and Dixon assisted by Dalton Henry.
In the second half the Bombers were able to get things going quickly with Dixon scoring 8 minutes into the half assisted again by Henry. The Bombers were able to find the net three more times: Henry on a PK, Adam Martinez assisted by Henry, and Oscar Murillo Cabrera assisted by Martinez. The Knights got their lone goal of the game with 13 minutes remaining off a cross that the Bombers failed to clear.
Defensively for the Bombers Juventino Miguel Cruz, Broc Beier, Matthew Brandenburg, Cameron Grzych, and Elijah Gastineau (GK) continue to be dominate. They held the Knights to just 3 shots on goal for the game.
The Bombers play the 2nd round of the Tourney on Thursday night, but due to weather some first round games were not played so details for the game are still TBD.
