Rensselaer varsity football team sent their senior class out in style with a 52-0 victory over Hoosier Conference East opponent Northwestern. Bombers defense was the story tonight as they did not allow 1 1st down and 3 total yards of offense for Northwestern. Leading the way was Luke Standish who had 14 tackles. Bombers took the ball away 4 times, 2 via interceptions by Noah Bierma and Kelton Hesson and 2 fumble recoveries by Lorenzo Ramirez and Pierce Taylor. Special Teams also played a role tonight as SR Brayden Wright scored on a 56 yard punt return touchdown in the 2nd quarter. Wright also had 86 yards on the ground and 2 more touchdowns to lead the 412 yards on the ground for the night. Four other Bomber runners scored with Noah Bierma, Eli Hickman, Jackson Hughes and Dalton Kidd finding paydirt. Bombers are now 5-3 on the year and will play Lewis Cass on the road next Friday in Hoosier Conference Crossover action.
