Bombers took to the road to square off with Wheeler Bearcats in Sectional 33 1st round action and came away with 48-6 victory. After a Wheeler opening drive touchdown, Bombers got the ball and got on the board in 3 plays to take 7-6 lead and did not look back adding 21 more 1st quarter points and 42 at the half. Bombers spread the ball around and was led by QB Eli Hickman who was 3-4 for 71 yards and 1 in the air and added 5 carries 25 yards and 2 more scores. Hickman also converted on 6 or 7 PATs. Bombers Defense settled in and held Wheeler to 66 total yards for the game and intercepted the ball 2 times, Noah Bierma in the 1st quarter returned his for 6 points, his 3rd Interception return for a TD on the year. Kelton Hesson had an interception as well to go along with his tremendous effort from his wing back position as he totaled 166 total yards. On the ground Hesson had 7 carries 104 yards and 2 td and added 2 catches 62 yards. Bierma added a touchdown catch and a 13 yard scamper late in the 2nd quarter. Bombers will next host North Newton at Emory Harrison Athletic Complex for 2nd round matchup with the 7-2 Spartans.
