Game Recap

Rensselaer JV softball won the first game of the double header against Western by a score of 4-2. Rensselaer played their best defensive game of the year holding a good Western team to just two runs and committing no errors. The win for the Bombers was the first time in school history that the Bombers were able to defeat the Panthers! Rensselaer was led in hitting by Alexis Bushong and Sarah Sutton with two hits each. Haley Manns collected her first win of the year going the distance for the Bombers striking out four and walking only two.
The Bombers finished the day against Western with another win as they won by a score of 12-11. Rensselaer was led in the second game by Madison Prater who had four hits and drove in four runs. Carlie Marlow, Sarah Sutton, and Mackenzie Prater each collected two hits for the Bombers. Coach Doyle said “This is the kind of playing that we thought we would see this year from this team. I’m proud of the girls and the way they played together today!” The Bombers next game will be Tuesday as they travel to Twin Lakes. Game time is 4:30.
