Game Recap

Rensselaer Central is headed to the Sectional Championship!!!

Rensselaer was able to take care of Wheeler mostly in the second half of last nights game. During the first half, the Bombers were trying to feel out the game as the sectional nerves were present. They missed a couple of easy shots, and had a few too many turnovers. However, Rensselaer was leading by 2 at the intermission.

The second half was started by Jaylen Gilbert who really had an outstanding game on the offensive end. The first play of the second half, Jaylen drilled a three from the left wing. The next defensive possession, he was able to deflect a ball toward our own goal, which he ran down and finished with a layup. That start proved to be the difference as the Bombers rolled in the second half. The defense was phenomenal. They outscored Wheeler 39-20 in the second half.

Landon Balch had a great defensive and rebounding night again. Other teams continue to put 5 guys around him, not allowing him to get going offensively. But, other teammates are stepping up and it’s a great time to see multiple scorers. Grant Myers added 13, Ben Hillan added 7. Jerrett Nagel added 4 assists and played efficient from the point guard spot.

Jaylen Gilbert ended with 24 points on the night.

Rensselaer Central will play host to Twin Lakes in the Sectional Championship at Home. Come out to the game tonight…Pack the House!
