Game Recap

The Rensselaer Central Bombers freshman boys basketball team traveled to Lafayette Jeff High School Monday night to play in the annual Lafayette Tournament. In the opening round the Bombers drew Central Catholic for a rematch from a game they played last week in which Central Catholic won by a single point. Going in we expected a dog fight and that’s exactly what we got. We came out shooting well early which carried us to a 1st quarter lead. The Knights fought back and took the lead at half and carried the lead into the 4th quarter. The Bombers gave everything they had in the 4th outscoring he Knights 8-2 in the final quarter to take home the win advancing themselves into the 2nd round of the tournament that will be played on Wednesday night at Harrison High School. Leading your Bombers in scoring tonight was Alex Gull and Camden Chapman each with 13 points followed by Matthew McGowan with 9, and Clayton Nagel with 1. The Bombers are now 10-6 on the season and will play Lafayette Jeff Wednesday night.
