Bomber 8th grade boys have BIG weekend!
The Bombers played in the Thomas Jefferson Tournament in Valpo on Saturday and came away with 2 big wins! Played a Hebron team in the 1st game. Hebron beat the Bombers 2 weeks ago. Saturday the Bombers beat a short-hand Hebron team by a score of 51-25. All 10 players got a lot of playing time. Scoring for the Bombers was Alex Gull-11, Jackson Hughes and Jared Riegle-9 each , Matt McGowan-7, Jacob Hillan-6,Eli Kosiba-4, Stephan Duncan-3, and Camden Chapman-2. The 2nd game we played Thomas Jefferson. They beat a full Hebron team by 16 in their 1st game. .After starting the game out behind 6-0, the Bombers slowly started getting both their offense and defense going. The Bombers lead at half by a score of 17-9. The Bombers defense held Thomas Jefferson to only 1 point in the 2nd quarter and just 5 in the 3rd quarter. With Thomas Jefferson pressing the entire 4th quarter, the Bombers were able to out score Thomas Jefferson 16-15 and win by a score of 43-29! It was a great win for the Bombers as Rensselaer hasn’t had much success over the years at Valpo. Scoring for the Bombers were Jacob Hillan-14, Alex Gull-11, Jackson Hughes-8, Eli Hickman-5, Noah Bierma-3 and Stephan Duncan-2. The wins move the Bombers record to 10 – 3. They next play at North Newton on Monday night at 6:30. It is an “A” game only.
